Jeanette made her opera debut singing Juliette in Roméo et Juliette in Montreal at His Majesty's Theatre (5/8 & 5/10/43), quickly repeating the rôle in Ottawa and Toronto. Her American debut with the Chicago Lyric Opera (11/4/44, repeated 11/11 and 11/15) was in the same rôle.

She also sang Marguerite in Faust with the Chicago Lyric Opera. In November, 1945, she did two more Roméo et Juliettes and a Faust in Chicago, and two Fausts for the Cincinnati opera. On December 12, 1951, she did one performance of Faust with the Philadelphia Grand Opera (Academy of Music).
